Produced by Films for the Humanities: Considering the high levels of convict recidivism in the United States, are U.S. prisons best serving society by warehousing violent male offenders rather than attempting to rehabilitate them? This program seeks to answer that question by going inside the supermax Ohio State Penitentiary and the San Francisco County Jail's RSVP (Resolve to Stop the Violence Project) facility to contrast the effects of solitary confinement and therapy based dormitory living. Corrections workers, mental health professionals, human rights advocates and inmates speak out. (There is no courseware outline or test for this program.
